An eclectic collection of furniture and antiques, the emphasis is on the upholstery shop, where both antique and contemporary pieces are reupholstered with the greatest attention to design, detail, and structural integrity. (Out of the valley, but not far... watch for Rt 100 turning south in E. Jamaica and follow it 3 miles to Wardsboro, and another 6 miles to W. Wardsboro.)

WARDSBORO

The Village Barn. Rt 100. Oak and walnut furniture from the turn of the last century and before, most of it refinished and ready for your home or shop. Restored trunks a specialty. Open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from Memorial Day through Columbus Day, and by appointment.  802-896-6274

WEST WARDSBORO

Junktiques. Rt 100. A barnful of stuff, all of it as found, most of it old: cast iron cookware, maple tree taps, you-name-it. You'll have to sweep off the cobwebs yourself. Open most Sunday afternoons during the better part of the year. No phone, you just have to be lucky.

Newell Hill Farm Antiques. Newell Hill Road. 1/4 mile west of Rt 100 from the "center" of West Wardsboro. A general line of furniture and smalls including stoneware jugs and crockery, chamber sets and transferware from the mid 19th century on. Open weekends from May-December, other times by chance.  802-896-6264

(Turn around here and head back north on Rt 100 to return to Rt 30 and the West River Valley.)

JAMAICA

Vincent Interiors. Main Street (Rts 30/100), attached to the Jamaica House B&B in the middle of the village. Affordable antiques in the shop, and quality reupholstering and interior design services in the workroom. Open Monday-Saturday, 9 AM to 5 PM, but a call ahead is wise.  802-874-7187

WESTON

Drury House Antiques. Rt 100 (Markham Lane, across from the village green). A shop for collectors of clocks (restored and certified by a professional clockmaker),furniture, lamps, porcelain, bottles, advertising and postcards. Open daily, May-December; weekends, January-April. A call ahead is appreciated.  802-824-4395

Outside the valley, but nearby, you'll find shops in Guilford, downtown Brattleboro, Putney, Bellows Falls, Saxtons River, Grafton, Chester, Springfield, Ludlow, Peru, Manchester, Wilmington, Marlboro, West Brattleboro and probably other towns as well...more than enough to fill your days.
